On May 16, 2024, the Jagnuts lost a long time member.
Morgan has been a Jagnut since 2003 and after an absence was back with us attending our Sunday morning breakfasts over the past few years attending as regularly as his health would allow.
MORGAN GOVENDER
1945-2024
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Dr. Krishnasamy Morgan Govender on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at the age of 79 years. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones after a long battle against pure red cell aplasia.
Dr. Govender was predeceased by his sister Asothie aged 17; brothers, Sunderesan (Derek) and Gurunathan (Dicky); along with their parents, Govindasamy and Mangai. Left to mourn his loss is his loving partner Vonh and the rest of the Quangtakoune family who had become very special to him. Also mourning are his sons Davin and Ash (Kristy) and their children Brighton and Finley (whom he always called his very special grandson as the two had a very special connection for so many years).
Dr. Govender wanted to thank Canadian Blood Services and all those who selflessly donate blood and plasma, as he was a recipient of over 100 transfusions during the course of his illness.
He also wanted to thank those he has worked with over the years whether in a hospital or in an office. Whether you knew him as Doc, Dr. G, or Govey, he truly appreciated all of you who showed such commitment to the betterment of the health of all citizens of Saskatchewan.
The family would like to extend their sincerest thanks to his friends at the transfusion clinic at the Pasqua Hospital, Dr. Wojcik, Dr. Patrick Duffy, Dr. Carmen Johnson and the palliative homecare team who helped him be comfortable for the last part of his life's journey.
Over the last few years of his life, he lived by the Buddhist teaching that, "even death is not to be feared by one who has lived wisely. Neither fire, nor wind, birth, nor death, can erase our good deeds. Perform those actions you will never regret: actions that will ripen into future joy and delight."
Morgan will be missed by the entire Jagnuts family.
